It's tough to ballpark a price for a website as each client has specific requirements and needs. Our custom websites average around $2000. (This price does not apply to online stores.)
Please contact us for a free consultation and price estimate.
We offer hosting at $15.00 a month on our dedicated LiquidWeb server with dedicated IP address. Hosting comes with unlimited e-mail addresses, forwarders,... and any services that cheap hosting and domain name companies charge extra for.
Cakewalk Websites designs sophisticated and user friendly websites that make your business stand out and boost customer confidence. We write the latest code for maximum functionality with Windows, Mac OS X, Android and IOS operating systems. Cakewalk Websites researches and studies your market and your competitors extensively to create a website for your business that overpasses your competition. We take time and care to design with attention to layout, structure and color combination. Our websites are responsive to ensure the utmost elegance on any device or screen size.
A contact form is the safest way to accept e-mails from your website visitors. It's also a way for your clients to get in touch with your company without revealing your e-mail address. Placing an e-mail address on a website results in spam. Cakewalk Websites creates contact forms that are taylor made to fit your needs. A required "e-mail" field comes in handy if you plan on e-mailing your clients regular products updates.
structured data, also called microdata, adds specific information to your webpages that help search engines understand the content of your website.
As an example, if a section of your website is titled "Air", your readers might know if "Air" refers to a French music band, the earth's atmosphere, music written by Johann Sebastian Bach or a sculpture by Aristide Maillol. Search engines do not. Structured data ensures search engines understand.
We create an XML sitemap to optimize indexing by search engines. An XML sitemap is a list of your website's pages, accessible to search engines. These XML sitemaps are invisible to your website visitors. Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask love XML sitemaps. XML sitemaps help search engines understand your website's structure and tells them what webpages to index.
Cakewalk Websites creates up to 10 e-mail accounts using your domain name (e.g. email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com) and helps you set them up on your preferred e-mail program, such as Apple Mail or Outlook.
At Cakewalk Websites, we know a thing or two about image editing. It is important that your images are properly sized and look sharp and crisp. A perfect balance of brightness, contrast and saturation brings out the best in your website's design. We include editing (limited to sizing, cropping, exposure, levels, brightness, contrast, saturation and minor corrections) for up to 15 images with the purchase of a custom website.
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is the main international standards organization for the World Wide Web (abbreviated WWW or W3)
The consortium is made up of member organizations which maintain full-time staff for the purpose of working together in the development of standards for the World Wide Web. As of 13 February 2017, the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has 432 members.
When one enters a URL or clicks a link to a webpage that cannot be found because it no longer exists, was moved to another location or was renamed, one gets a 404 error.
For a standard 404 error page, please click the link to this non existing webpage cakewalkwebsite.com/aldkfjdaf. A standard 404 error page is unsettling as visitors think they have left your website.
A custom 404 error page has navigation to help visitors find the desired page while letting them know they have not left your website. Click the following link with custom 404 error page for a non existing page cakewalkwebsites.com/ksjfh5r. A custom 404 error page keeps visitors on your website.
Cakewalk Websites creates "301 redirects" for clients with an existing website who want a slightly different structure for their new website. Let's say your old website had a webpage for pricing (mywebsite.com/princing) and a webpage for services (mywebsite.com/services), but now you want your pricing and services on the same webpage (mywebsite.com/pricing_services). If the old URL was bookmarked or appears as a link on other websites, visitors will get a 404 error as that webpage no longer exist. It's called a "broken link". They make a bad impression with your visitors and they are bad for your search engine ranking. A 301 redirect will redirect those who click on a bookmark or link to mywebsite.com/services or to mywebsite.com/pricing to mywebsite.com/pricing_services.
Cakewalk Websites registers your website with the three main search engines Google, Yahoo and Bing to help them better understand your business, your website's structure and content. This helps search engines present the best search results when people enter certain keywords in a search engine to find the business they are looking for.
Cakewalk Websites registers your website with Google Analytics in order to generate detailed statistics about your website's traffic and traffic sources and measures conversions and sales. It's the most widely used website statistics service. Google Analytics can track visitors from all referrers, including search engines and social networks, direct visits and referring sites. It also tracks display advertising, pay-per-click networks, e-mail marketing and digital collateral such as links within PDF documents.
If an S.E.O. (Search Engine Optimization) company promises you will rank on Google's first page it's a scam. No one can guarantee anything when it comes to search engines as they keep changing their algorithms. Google lists twenty businesses per page. What if S.E.O. companies promise thirty restaurants they will be on the first page?
There is no secret hocus pocus voodoo magic to S.E.O. as Google publishes their guidelines for all the world to see. You cannot pay to cheat the system. Cakewalk Websites strictly follows Google guidelines to optimize search engine results for your website.
Cakewalk Websites provides a CMS (Content Managing System) for those clients who want to manage their content (also called "backend"). A CMS does not come standard with our websites. The vast majority of our clients are too busy and don't have the time to read a manual or watch tutorial videos on how to use their CMS. Furthermore, it takes a great deal of knowledge to compose webpages that are pleasant to read and are structured in a way that makes sense to your vitiors and search engines.
Then there is the aspect of microdata (also called "structured data"). This requires certain content of your webpage to be wrapped in tags which is done by working inside the code of the webpage. Microdate is not a "must" but can greatly improve your search engine rankings.
Cakewalk Websites does not compete with companies like Wix or Squarespace. We choose to cater to a specific clientele that wants to have everything taken care of. In fact, almost all of our clients had a Wix or a Squarespace website and gave up or got stuck because their template could not grow with their business.
We offer hosting on our Liquid Web dedicated server with dedicated IP address at $10/month to those clients who want peace of mind by letting us take care of their hosting. If someone you share a server with (shared hosting) decides to send out spam, you might have your (shared) IP address blacklisted by other servers (Gmail, Yahoo, AOL etc.), preventing your clients to receive your e-mails.
At Cakewalk Websites, we search for up to 15 images for your website on stock photography websites (purchase not included). Images are important to set a mood. They create a pleasant experience for your visitors. We partner with Istock so you can explore millions of royalty-free images.
With an SSL (Secure Sockets Layers) or TLS (Transport Layer Security) certificate, URLs change from http:// to https:// and traffic between a computer and the server is encrypted. Google favors website with SSL or TLS in its search results because Google is keen on providing safe search results. All websites that handle delicate data, such as credit card information, must use SSL or TLS.
